Happy Thanksgiving!

I had a wonderful day today. It started with being in NYC to watch the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade, having dinner with my roommates (Belinda and Beth) and Belinda's family (Harland, Amy, Grace, Abby, Adriel, and Adriel's friends....Matt, Lisa, and Cindy), and great phone conversations with my mom, brother, and Brent. What a wonderful day. I am very thankful for my knowledge of Christ and his teachings, family, friends, good health, job, and many other blessings. I strive to be thankful at every turn for what I have and work to impart of what I have to those in need. Doing this is like having Thanksgiving every day....but with less calories!

LA weekend

I had the opportunity Wed night to Sun afternoon to be in SoCal. I went out to Fullerton for a few days for work and then got to go to Woodland Hills to visit with my friend, Debbie, and then to Santa Monica to visit my friends, Shawna and Jared and their kids. Visiting with my friends was great, as always. I got to go to Bella's soccer game and play on the jungle gym with Lexi and Caleb. I then had a great lunch at an organic eatery on Montana Ave. and fun trip to the 3rd Street Promenade with Debbie. We even got hit on by 26 year old guys! I went to dinner with Jared, Shawna, and Caleb at El Coyote to support a restaurant that had sustained protests from opponents of Proposition 8 because the daughter of the owner had previously donated $100 to the Yes on 8 campaign. The last time I'd eaten at El Coyote was when I was 23 and on a date with Darrel Reeser. Boy was that a long time ago. Staci and Doug, as well as Mike and Michelle, couldn't come to dinner because of having colds. We missed them at dinner (which was followed by ice cream at Milk next door). I did get to see Sunny and Laura (Breena's sister) along with some other OC crew. Fun times. The next day I went to church at Westdale 2nd and saw so many people from the past. I saw LT (whom I haven't seem since 2000/2002), Brian Yates from USC days, Professor McBride from USC days (and who's now the bishop), Sean Doughtery, John Meurer, and many more. Then it was off to the airport for my trip back. I love getting to go back to LA and visit. Although my time living there is over (and likely to never occur again), it's great to visit. I definitely miss the weather and the beaches, but not the traffic!

I had a really old account on here. I had tried updating the background and changing my page around, but to no avail. I thought I was blog-inept. However, after looking at a friend's Blogger page, I came back here with determination to succeed. After considerable time, I found a way to upgrade my old account to the new format where I could change backgrounds and do other things. I was able to FINALLY change my layout. With that and some other changes, I now feel more inclined to blog. I'm so excited. Watch out world. Here comes my fast typing fingers.
